Ok. This issue is REALLY bugging me. I have used smartripper to create a single M2V of Domestic Disturbance. From here I use DVD2AVI to preview the file & find out its Aspect Ratio(4:3) and VOB IDs(Should I want to strip the movie with IfoEdit). Then I load TMPGEnc and tweek my 'Standard TV' template (since DD is 4:3). From here I usually create several one minute long movie clips that I play back in PowerDVD and compare the quality and Aspect Ratio to the original VOB. It is here that I noticed something weird. All M2V files created clipped the original 720x480 to 640x480. Normally I would not mind the 'clipping' but it would clip the last letter in several actors names. To find out how bad this issue was I used the 'clipping tool' and enabled the 'arrange setting' option. This displayed the input/output formats. This showed that my movie was infact being seen as 640x480 and being expanded to 720x480. I tried using the 'video arrange method' to create a custom sized input but this did not resolve my issue.

Oddly XMPEG with Dixv 5.02 and ReMPEG are both able to convert the movie correctly. But I don't use these tools because Dixv creates a grainy looking end product and ReMPEG produces bad video artifacts with an MPEG2 source. (Maybe I just have not found the right settings?)

Anyway is someone out there knows how to correct this....

Many thanks
