  1. Hi!

    Iäve gotten some mpeg-2 coded files, how the heck do i do to convert them to "plain" mpeg?

    I presume you mean mpeg1 with plain mpeg. There are a number of encoders that will do this for you. Checkout the tools section of this website. TMPGEnc is very popular.

  3. Yes, but TMPEnc doesn't want to open the mpeg-2 file.
    it say's it unsupported....

    1.) Are you sure it's an mpeg 2 file? How do you know?

    2.) Have you got a DVD software player on your system, as this will play the mpeg2 (providing it is mpeg2)

    loner: Click on CONVERT(here to the left) and you find one way of converting MPEG2 to VCD(MPEG1).

  6. I have same problem: TMPEnc doesn't want to open the mpeg-2 file.
    it say's it unsupported....
    It worked OK until moning 01.08.2001 on two separate computers. And at night both computers gave this error message. On one computer I did nothing but on anothe I installed WinDVD and YAMAHA station before it occured.
    What is it?

    I wonder if all these sudden MPEG2 problems are occuring due to the trial limit being over? There have never been so many reports here in the forum that TMPGEnc cannot open MPEG2 files!

  8. I have several pc's and tmpgenc will accept mpeg-2 files on the ones that have dvdsqueezer installed!
