  1. Can anyone please help me?

I am the proud owner of a brandnew dvdplayer (Sony DVP-NS305) and i want to watch my .avi movies on it. I red on this site how i should do that. I used TMPGEnc to cut my movie in half and convert it into .mpeg. Before i did that i made sure that my movie (the matrix) was not pal but NTSC. Then i used Nero to burn it, also with the descriptions this site provided, but when i try to watch the vcd in my dvd-player, i can only hear the sound and i see grey stripes and a sort of snow. I already spent 3 cd-r and i really dont know what i can do now to watch my beloved movies on my dvd player. Am I never going to be able to enjoy my movies or can someone help me???

    Thanx for responding!

  4. Look at the DVD Players compattibility list on this site. It doesn't have reports about DVP305 but have plenty about DVP300. People found that it wouldn't play CD-r. Most likely 305 has the same problem! Try CD-rw - it might help, try different brands of CD-rs, CD-rws..

    good luck!

  6. I still cant seem to figure out why my dvd player doesnt play my vcd movies that i burned. I burned a cd an i put mp3s on it, and my dvd player has no trouble playing the music. Can i conclude that the problem is not that my dvdplayer cant play my brand of cd-r?? and that the problem is something else???

If anyone has any comments please tell me!

  7. Try your VCD's in a few friends players to see if they are OK in those, or even go take one down your local electronics store to see if they can play them! If they dont play in anything, its your conversion process thats gone wrong somewhere!
