Hi all,
The tiny bit I know about video stuff, I learned from lurking in these forums and reading the guides, faqs, etc. Many thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise.
When capturing video from tape, is it possible to encode it directly to a compressed file? I am capturing clips from home movies and they are really huge. I filled over 15 gig of hd space (it's nearly full now) with just a few minutes of clips.
I know that compressing them to mpeg2 will free up plenty of space so that I can get all the clips I want to the hard drive but will I be able to splice them all together as one continuous clip *after* they've been compressed?
My goal is to make a VCD with all the highlight clips joined together to make one continuous clip (does that make sense?). Any advice would be appreciated
Thanx

well im sure there is a program that will let you save as a avi and as far as clipping them all together you could try the one on the main page of vcdhelp they have a free trial version.
