    Hi all,

    I have a .mp4 video ripped on Sony V8 tape by a profession shop. Some sections of the video have screen jerking/jumping, unclear to view. The profession shop blames that it is the quality of the recording.

    Please advise is there any way to fix the problem. Thanks in advance.

    Regards

    Quality of the recording maybe. Using an external (frame) TBC may possibly have solved the issue, but how should we know what the shop did?
    But now you could try to fix the probelm by replacing the jerky frames with motion interpolated frames of adjacent good frames, provided these jerky sections are few frames (say 1....5) in a row only.

    Upload a sample with a jerky section so someone may try.

    You have done this many times before. For example you can use Avidemux to select and cut a section of your .mp4 which includes jerky bad frames.

    Ugggh! I didn't imagine that it is so bad. This can't be fixed. Hard to believe that your V8 is so bad, but I don't really know. I doubt whether the shop did a professional job.

    Hi Sharc,

    I just discovered an interested finding ;

    The profession shop gave me an USB Flash drive, 16G in size, with following data recorded ;
    NEW 1501 (folder/directory)
    System Volume information (folder/directory)
    1445.mp4 (this video has flickering problem)
    1445.mpg (this video has flickering problem)

    Back Up Your Files to the Cloud.pdf
    SanDiskSecureAccessV3.01_win.exe

    On NEW 1501 (folder/directory) -- there are 2 video files ;
    1501.mp4
    1501.mpg

    Both video without flickering. I have tried them on VLC media player and OpenShot

    Great Discovery. I don't need investing further effort and cost to solve flickering problem.

    Hi Sharc,

    I have upload the video to Youtube

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pe3VWa-Oddo

    I suppose the video was captured in Zurich, Switzerland in 1993 when I visited there with my daughter

    In the video it shows ;
    Twin towers of Grossmuenster church, in old town of Zurich
    and
    The Fraumünster Church (Women's Minster)

    Downtown of Zurich

    etc.

    I need to find them out, searching on Internet. The video was captured in about 1993, 30 years ago. I have visited Zurich several times in the past

  10. To me most of your clip (after approx 1 minute) looks like the city of Wuerzburg in Germany, rather than Zurich ......

    Sorry No.

    The video were captured while I was in Zurich and in cruise of Zurich Lake. The scenery is very beautiful there. I have been to Zurich, Chur, Gotthard Pass, Arosa, Ascona, Bern, Lucerne etc. several times in the pass.

    Würzburg and Nuremberg are in Bavaria aria, the black forest. Also I have been there several times in the past, including following German City:-
    Dusseldorf
    Erkrath
    Neuss
    Solingen
    Wuppertal
    Frankfurt
    Koln
    Munich
    Stuttgart
    River Rhine
    Wuppertal
    Hamburg
    Karlsruhe
    etc

    Nice for you and easy to mix something up, obviously. Your YT upload is mainly Würzburg, with the Obelisk fountain, Main bridge, Fortress Marienberg etc.
    But I don't want to argue against your memories .... you keep them as you think is right for you.

  13. I agree. Just one thing: The Black Forest is far away from Bavaria.
