Have always found Win10 very difficult for audio (compared to XP)
Wanted to help someone set up a USB turntable. But as soon as the USB cable was connected, all sound died.
    Unlplug and sound came back.
So then tried Line Input on the Sound Card. The Sound properties for Recording showed Line In Selected and a wee green LED indicated it could hear it. But no way would it play through the speakers.
Device manager showed no problems and the required Codec was installed.

The Sound Mixer has 3 faders, but no "line in" assuming it should. Sound plays fine from Winamp or via the net, YouTube etc.
Any help appreciated! Or an email address for Audio Technica. Model is AT120USB.

I would connect it to a stero or other device with a line-in and confirm the turntable is putting out the correct
line-out signal. Their info says that it should have such a thing, since it doesn't require the device to have a dedicated
    phono input
"But in addition to the USB output, the turntable also comes with a detachable dual RCA output cable and is equipped with a built-in selectable phono preamp so you can connect directly to your home stereo, whether it has a dedicated phono input or not."

Did you look at the Windows 10 Control Panel/Sound/recording/line-in/properties tab?

Yes, as mentioned - where the green meter was showing a signal. It got that far.

No, there was not, unless it was one of the 3. I think they were Speakers, System and Thunderbird.
Computer is not here, at a friends place.

Maybe an ASIO driver install will work.
