  1. I use ulead and nero and picture quality drops when played on a dvd player. How can I make a vcd/svcd that looks the same as a jpg opened in any photo program. My canon s30 will play a slide show with perfect quality using a/v cables into the tv but the same picture looks terrible (grainy) when converted for a dvd slide show. Some one point me in the right direction, or is this normal.

  2. if you are converting picts from VCD 352x240 to DVD 720x480
    that could be the problem.
save some picts in original DVD size 720x480 and try burn the DVD and compare

  3. I just used Nero last night to make several picture shows. I no longer need to convert the images to 720x480 or 720x576. Select the VCD template and select NTSC or PAL. Then drag any image into the folder and burn. Nero will convert the images to the correct format for a NTSC or PAL VCD. The images looks just as good as they do on the PC. Obviously, a 2000x2500 pixel photo will not look as good on the TV as on the PC! A TV set has a resolution of about 640x480 pixels, and the VCD will use 720x480 pixels.
