  1. I'm hoping to get some expert advice. I've attached a video file for your review (I used VirtualDub2 to convert the video to H.264 without any additional processing.). I'm unsure if there are any halo artifacts present. The dark lines seem too thick to me. I'm not certain if this is a significant issue or how to address it. I've been experimenting with the DeHalo alpha filter, but I'm unsure rn. I'm not sure how to correct the issue. Or should I.

Please let me know your thoughts and any suggestions for improvement.

  2. This appears to be a HD digital source file like some form some versions of HD DV widescreen or something, there really shouldn't be halos present which is more of an analog source thing. What was the original source material from?

    Canon Legria HFG25.
It seems that it might be creating halos. Perhaps it should be called something else.
We discussed this issue in https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/416598-Avisynth-Dehalo-Softens-Details#post2759814

  4. Looks fine to me. Just fix the telecine/interlacing in it.

  5. Yes the video has oversharpening halos around the sharpest edges. It's from the conversion of a beyer filter to pixels by the camera.

You'll have to decide for your self whether the loss of some detail is worth it.
