Huge avi files dont work

Okay heres the scoop, I downloaded these huge .avi files off of kazaa, they are supposed to be spiderman, they are 150mb+ and all I get is an hour or so of black screen and no sound, I downloaded nimo, new divix and virtual sub, dont know how to use them and it only works on windows media player, help me, I am at my wits end. it took a lot of time for me to download these, help a poor newbie.

it playes al right, it just plays about an hour of black screen, then I downloaded nimo, now it wont play on windows media player. I may have made a mess of things.

if you install the lastest divx codec, it comes w/ a divx player...have you tried playing the .avi files in it?

could be that it's a fake...heard lotta those going around

maybe, I downloaded2 of them and soon a third, and yes I downloaded the new divix. and nimo, and virtual sub, and something thats divix spelled backwards, it came with nimo, I dont think I should have messed with that, because then wimdows media player wouldnt play the files anymore.
