  1. Dears,
for compatibility reasons I have this pipeline:
    1. Begin from MKV H264 23.976fps / LCPM 2.0 48kHz
    2. LPCM upsample to WAV 5.1 96kHz (by DTS Neural stereo/5.1 upmix VST) and LFE level lowering by Adobe Audition
    3. LCPM WAV 5.1 96kHz to DTS-HD MA 5.1 96kHz 23.976fps encode by DTS-HD MA Master Audio Suite Encoder
    4. MKV mux to H264 23.976fps / DTS-HD MA 5.1 96kHz 23.976fps by MKVToolNix
Original length is 31:59.004 and it's maintained till step 3 (DTS encode) returns a 31:59.029 stream: this looks to be a minor issue.
By the way, close to the end, the final MKV file looks to be 1-2 seconds out of sync.
I can't get rid of this.

    Video stream is copied untouched.

Troubleshooting, I tried to mux the output of step 2 (WAV 5.1 96kHz) but, despite the file length is equal to original length (31:59.004), close to the end the resulting MKV is out of sync, again.
    I'm getting crazy...
In my opinion there's something wrong within Adobe Audition (step 2), but how can it go out of sync of returned file is exactly as long as the original file?
In audition I directly open the original MKV file, then I operate "convert sample type" to go from 48kHz 2.0 to 96kHz 5.1, then DTS Neural upmix to fill new channels, then "amplify" to lower LFE and finally save to WAV 5.1 96kHz.

Any suggestions about how to fix or improve this pipeline?

    Regards

First of all, make sure you ALWAYS select "25 fps" in the Master Audio Suite GUI,
regardless of the video's actual framerate.

MAYBE the actual problem is in the version of MKVtoolnix you're using.

    Why 25fps?
If wrong framerate is selected the resulting duration is different...

Audio streams don't have a "framerate".
I said 25 fps because when I chose any other framerate value, the total playing time of the reencode was always different from the original one.

Also, you still haven't said what version of MKVtoolnix you're using.
    MAYBE it has a bug.

DTS has a timecode, and that's why frame rate needs to be specified.
    I'm on MKVtoolnix 75.0.0.
