What is the best way to deinterlace this clip using Avisynth?

It seems the source is telecined, so I tried TFM with the default parameters but it leads to blending every few frames + some combing. QTGMC with the standard parmeters leads to blending every few frames.

QTGMC will usually give better deinterlacing than BWDIF. It will be much slower though.

I know. I'm always using QTGMC even if I have to wait ages. It's quite fast on SD videos, though.

The source is quite bad quality-wise; is there a way to get rid of the aliasing at the edges of objects/persons after QTGMC + SRestore were used?

Try an antialias filter like Santiag(1, 3).
