Hello guys, i just found this amazing forum! So cheers from Montevideo, Uruguay!.

I got a Panasonic NV-FS200b from a store for 50 bucks with 7 more VCR that I sold to some guys, this Panasonic had a bad Luminance and Chrominance Pack board so all i got was a black screen!

First i thought it was the Sub-Luminance and Chrominance Pack board so i went and recapped that board since it had corrosion on the small board that it's in this pack.
But i got nothig, so i went to a service shop here in Uruguay that they are an official Panasonic service for the last 40 years and they changed that board and fixed this issue.

The thing is now it plays great but i have B&W picture on s-video, on composite i have colors and looks great, but i want to use the s-video out. Also the S-Video logo that turns on when an svhs is played is alwayes off, even if i turned on the led never turns on.

What do you guys think i can check first?? Do i need to instal new capacitors on the "new" Luminance and Chrominance Pack board that Panasonic Service installed?

I let the VCR playing for a few hours but that didn't made any change. Also both cables works fine on my Panasonic FS100HQ.

First picture on Composite (scart out)

  2. I bought PAL Panasonic couple months ago and all my tapes played on it were black-and-white. after investigation, i found out that my tapes were SECAM, and all SECAM tapes play as black-n-white on PAL VCRs and you actually have to buy SECAM VCR. Are your tapes SECAM by any chance?

Hey, my tapes are PAL-N and PAL-B, i also have some NTSC tapes that the VCR can play but the output its PAL60, this only happens with S-Video out, with composite out colors are displayed normally

If your gear is okay, then maybe the other issue could be that PC reads your signal incorrectly. This was the case for me (first case was when i had wrong HW, second case was that signal was read incorrectly by PC). lollo adviced me to use GraphEdit to manually override how PC reads the signal and it fixed the issue for me. Maybe you can try it? Not sure if it will help but those are things that worked for me

So my PC is taking fine the image, i tried on my Sony PVM 2130QM and i have also B/W image over S-Video, so i opened the VCR, and changed all the caps on those 2 boards called Sub-Luminance, Luminance and Chrominance, what do you guys think i should try now? Because changing the capacitors did nothing
