  1. ok, I've successfull made at least 10 working cd-rw's that will play back in my panasonic rv30. But, here's the part that is driving me insane.

No matter how many different conversions I do, and I have used all the conversion software, nothing will work anymore. What the hell am I doing different?

I convert avi to mpg using either avi2vcd, or tmpge, or virtual dub. I have burned with Nero, EasyCd, and EasyVcd. I have done it in both mpeg form, and bin and cue form. I have also done both pal and ntsc. The cd's look exactly like the ones that work, but the wont even read "No Disc"

So what did I do right before, and wrong now?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hmm, since I'm not you I can't tell what may be different, but he goes a try at it.

I'm asuming you're now burning to cdr's rahter than cdrws ? It is possible your player can only play cdrw's and not cdrs. CHeck the dvdplayers link above.

Second, have you encoded them differently ? You may have raised the bitrate too high or encoded them as an SVCD or other variant that your machine can't handle. Again check your compatability http://vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php

I do find it hard to believe you're converting to VCD Mpg with VirtualDub (it is not possible) I can only think you may be frameserving.

If the directory structure and method is identical to what you've done in the past, I am sure it's a compatability problem with either how you've encoded them or the media itself.

  3. Thanks for the reply, I am a little confused about the bitrate part, but can't remember ever changing it. Basically, I just use the settings in Nero or Tmpge and it worked fine. I have alwyas used cd-rw's because I know cdr's wont work in my player.

Is there a link that will help me on the bitrates? If thats the problem, then there should be an easy solution!
