  1. is there any soft ware out there over the counter where i can can put dvd in drive then rip to svcd/vcd/etc without the hassle of changing formats im lasy just want to stick dvd in machine and ripp dont mind paying for the for the easy route. red the how to with freeware/shareware but to much hassle please help this lazy bum

    The short answer is "no"
    You may try dvd2svcd, that is a all in one tool, but it requires Cinema craft encoder and I-Author. Both are quite expensive commercials. If you want to make (S)VCD, you need to read and learn quite a lot. If you don't want that, contact your local DVD dealer.

    The answer is "YES"!!! go here :

    and download the EasyDivX pakage. It contains free programs to fully automatic rip dvd's. It just starts with some questions and then everything is done for you.
    Only problem being that the files are not as good as the SBC (Smart Bitrate Cotnrol) version of a handmade DivX !!
