  1. Hi there.

I'm looking to set up a portable DVR for recording analog footage in the field and I've been digging around the forums for possible solutions, but not coming to any solid conclusions.

My setup will be based around a small computer, either SBC based or mini-pc based, running windows 10. The goal of this project is to record high quality analog video, so lossless recording is of the highest priority. I've seen both PCI-E cards and USB dongles that can do analog video capture. Which option can do high quality lossless recording and why?

    Provide some context. Why analog?

Unless I read you wrong, you did not find what you require simply because you can not do that.

Analog video is written to tape. Once an analog source is captured to a pc it becomes digital. And practically all capture devices can handle lossless capture.

And what do you mean by that 'Why ?' at the end of your post ?

Trying to record 5.8 FPV footage. All equipment that receives the signal is analog based.

To see how you came to the conclusion you did. IE: what did you factor into your recommendation.
