Hi,
I am trying to capture HDV 720p tapes on a JVCHD101 Pro Camera. This is the same camera that took the footage.
I have been given the camera and over 200 tapes
I am using HDV split 0.77 beta.
According to the file properties, I have captured a 26 min Video clip. When I play the video clip in Media Player it runs for 26 min.
When I import into Sony Vegas 12 or Sony Home studio 11 or other video conversion software, it shows that my file is only
a 1 min file ???
I am totally beat on this one.
I just did another test file for 3 mins and it played for 3 mins in Media Player. Then I did another test capture for about 1 min
and it played back for 26 min ?????????????? in media player.
I normally capture HDV 1080 into Vegas or HDV split with no problems in the past.
I have tired capturing with both Vegas 12 and Home studio 11, but both programs crash on the initial first half second of capture.
Yes, I have changed firewire driver to legacy as well, but still wont work with Vegas.
Any help Please. Especially on why Sony Vegas Cant even start capture
cheers
Scott

this is suspicious. Try open file in avidemux. It should get it on first frame, which isn't at timeline at 0 time. Then press mark B on the bottom, and delete selected. Set video to copy, audio to copy and output format what you want. But of course don't overwrite original file!Time code of first frame : 00:05:30;34
Then save it and let me know if file size and times are correct.

This is what happens when capturing in Vegas 12 OR Home studio 11 ( same software Im guessing anyway )

This happens on several win 7 64 i7 computers and a Xeon PC as well

It crashes on the very first frame. I can hear a blurb of audio and then the pop up screen from Vegas asking to send or not to send info

Please bear in mind, this doesnt happen on dv capture or HDV 1080 from my canon hdv players.

Its only this borrowed jvc HD101 beast with 720p tapes

any ideas about getting vegas to capture would be great
