  1. I have recorded university lectures on camera and I need a software which will allow me to cut out the short periods when there are peaks of background noise (someone moves or drops a pen on the bench). I know I can use things like WavePad Sound Editor to edit sound but when I cut out those sound peaks it won't affect the video. I need software by which when I cut out some sound it will simultaneously remove the corresponding video interval. Hope you know what I'm trying to explain. Thanks.

Most any good video editor will do that. What format is the video/audio?
You could try AVIDemux for one. Editing some highly compressed formats such a H.264 or MP4 may not result in frame accurate cuts.

But other members may be able to give better advice with more information.

    And welcome to our forums.

  3. Hey The file format is .3gp
I recorded using mobile phone. I will try the program you have suggested. Any other programs you could recommend?
    Thank you!

Likely .MP4, variable bit rate. Not fun to accurately edit. AVIDemux should work, but if you need fade in/fade out for the cuts, or more
advanced editing, then more likely a paid editor program. I don't normally use paid editor programs, but our members can give their suggestions.

  5. Try a paid NLE. In my opinion the best low cost one is movie studio, developed by Sony, now a Magix product.

If this is a one-time edit you can probably complete the project during the free trial preriod. If you are going to be doing a lot of this, it pays for itself in time saved.

Premiere Elements and Pinnacle are also excellent, and also have free trials.

Nero is a good one,you may be able to use the trial period to complete your task.

I disagree. After Effects is the gold standard for what it was designed for -- motion effects. I use it and love it. It is a very clunky editor.

I used it once. Pretty nice. I would recommend this software
