What software will edit audio/video without quantizing to frames?

Hi,
This is my first post. I just got an old computer (see specs) and want to edit video using the audio wave form. I need to edit audio at any point. Therefore I must disable the quantize to frames function. Also I may want to use multiple HD cameras. What is the most inexpensive software I can get which will do this?

Do I need to increase memory? What other computer modifications are needed?

OSX Yosemite version 10.10
MacBookPro 15 inch, 2.53 GHZ, mid-2009
Memory 4GB 1067 MHZ DDR3
Graphics NVDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
