  1. i would like to take a snapshot of one of the frames in my video clip so i can play it for a few seconds while it is "frozen" so i can explain some things, before the movie clip continues. How to i take a snapshot of that image in my frame ( and then perhaps save it as a jpeg image?).

thanks in advance for any help,

Since I have no idea about the kind of video you have, the best advice I can give you is to open it in VLC and capture using -> Video -> Take Snapshot.

  3. Thanks Kaiser. My mistake. I thought this was purely a VSDC forum. If anyone out there can help me with VSDC freee editor, I am editing a project, and in one of my imported videos i want to "freeze" a snapshot of one of the frames for a few seconds so i can add some explanation before the movie continues. If anyone can help me with how to do this I'd appreciate it.

There is a "snapshot" option located in the VSDC edit toolbar somewhere--I can't remember exactly where--but the trick is finding the file after you shoot it. The address goes by so fast I couldn't read it. For that reason, the VLC snapshot option is by far the best and this program is a freebie so why not go that route? Wilder

Yes I do, but new people are joining this forum every day. Like me for instance. But the problems are probably the same as they were when the original post was made. Reading down the list it seemed that the people thought there was some solution besides VLC; there is if you can find it but . . .vlc is the easiest. Yrs Wilder
