  1. While trying to convert a movie to an MPEG, I got an error with the message "Illegal floating decimal point calculation order." in the dialogue box. It occurs at the same point in the movie. What does this error mean? Is it a problem with the source or TMPGEnc?

  2. Rip the audio with V-DUB and use that as source. If there still is an Illegal.... you have to cut that part of the movie out.

There should be How To's available for this.

  3. I am using VirtualDUB to cut the sound out first. And I really don't want to cut that part of the movie out because its one of the good parts of the movie.

  4. Try this one. I always use this to go around that err.

    1. Go to http://www.mnsi.net/~jschlic1/ and download AVI2VCD.

    2. Xtract it the file called DECOMPRESS.EXE to any folder u want to.
    3. Run DECOMPRESS.EXE and select your file.
    4. Press Decompress
    5. Wene the app is done you will have a file called moviename_pcm.avi or wathever.

Now you can use the new file with TMPGEnc.

IMPORTENT: The new file will be alot bigger then the org. file. About 1,5Gb or more that defends on the sound quality of the movie.

Good Luck and if there is any problem ask me :P

"Illegal floating decimal point calculation order"

I'm getting this with all files (mpeg, avi, mov) and it happens at the start when I load the video.

I have 4 different versions of TMPGEnc and old one V beta 12 is the only version which will open and convert them.

I never used to get problems with downloaded video clips, I use Kazaa, could that be the problem?

    Any ideas?

  6. Ouch... 1.5Gb... that hurts. Im kinda limited on space so I won't be able to try it for some time. Thanks for the help, and I'll get back to you if it ends up working.

  7. It means you have some bad frames in the original file.

Install DivX Antifreeze; find a link under tools and change in TMPGEnc. under Environmental settings: VFAPI plug-ins: DirectShow Multimedia File Reader priority to 1 by right clicking it and select Higher Priority

    NO CUTTING REQUIRED
