I don't know if this is one problem or 2 different ones. When I try to open 30fps files in TMPGEnc 2.5 it automatically treats them as a Film Movie (24fps) and that's easy fixable by just changing the tab to Video Movie. But I'm having the same thing happen in TMPGEnc DVD Author, it says the 30fps files are 23 or so fps and won't let me use them, and in that there's no option to adjust it to the proper fps. Essentially both programs are not reading the files as 30fps video files (and they are). Anyone know how to fix this? Could this be a codec problem?

    Thanks,
    Kevin.

First off, what type of source file are you using? if its AVI Xvid then I think i've ran into that problem before...

Best way to tell if it really is 29.97fps is to check with GSpot.

    Hi,

It is happening with some .xvid files in TMPGEnc Plus but it's also happening with .vob files that i'm putting in DVD Author, files (30fps) that worked fine before, now DVD Author is reading them as 23 or so fps and won't let me use them.

What version of DVD Author do you have? For the XVID on TMPGEnc 2.5, I was able to fix it with an older version of XVID... something wrong with TMPG and XVID codec I guess.

I'm surprised VOB would be different since its pretty standard so fps reading isn't usually wrong. It might be using 3:2 pulldown? Try converting it to MPEG-2 DVD compliant with TMPGEnc 2.5. What does GSpot say about those vob files?
