Computer won't display avc files

So on my camera I can playback and view my avc files but once I connect it to the computer they don't show up. If my files are recorded as an mp4 though they will show up. Help?

What software player are you using? If different players still have the same problem, then maybe it's a PC problem.
Try the freeware VLC Player. It plays most anything without any added playback codecs.

You didn't fill in your PC information, so we have no idea what your PC capabilities or your operating system is,
and that makes it difficult to give much advice.
