  1. Anyone else still using DVD Lab? I learned on it, got it working on Windows 10, and know it inside & out, so why switch? Anyway, I have had no trouble with this software (DVD Lab Standard) in the many years of use, but now am about to rip my hair out. I've set up chapters, created a chapter selection menu, did everything else, compiled it and burned it to DVD. Well, when I test the DVD (home movie footage), it won't skip to the next chapter. It just keeps repeating the first chapter. I checked the file on my computer. Same problem. I troubleshooted. Couldn't find anything wrong, so I recaptured the video, starting the process from scratch, and still have the issue! I even saved the new version of my DVD to a harddrive with tons of space on it. I don't know what to do, and am doing this for a customer. Can anyone help? If there's no setting in DVD Lab I can change, and it comes down to me switching to a new software, then I need recommendations. The tricky part is that all her other discs are already burned & ready, so I need these last few remaining discs to match, meaning I'll need the same background options, etc. Thanks.

  2. Maybe I just need to upgrade to DVD Pro 2? However, I've been using this software for this particular DVD job for many weeks with no problems on any of the other discs.

DVD-lab and DVD-Lab Pro are not perfect — they have bugs and design flaws which will not be corrected. Sometimes the VIDEO_TS will not be compiled at all, and sometimes it will be compiled, but with errors. Either way, the program will not tell you the exact reasons why the compiling process failed, nor it will warn you that there were errors.

In the end, you'll have to use (/or switch to) other DVD-authoring applications

  4. It might just take a couple of seconds to fix it within PGCEdit.
Load your VIDEO_TS in there, find your title on the left, and double click it. Are there all zeros in cell cmd# boxes? If not, write zeros there and save DVD. VIDEO_TS will be corrected.

reboot and start over with a new project. i'd guess you have some leftover garbage in dvdlab from a previous one. i can't say i've ever run into a problem like that in all the years i've used dvdlab. it just works and there isn't any other program like it in a decent price range.
