I use avidemux to hardcode subtitles or add a black border for subtitles. I know its not stable but recently it has started freezing (not crashing) more or less every time. Its not the type of file. It freezes with .ts and .mkv even mkvs I have put through mkvmerge to create a new header. I am using windows 10. I have updated all drivers. I have upgraded without success to Avidemux 2.6.12. I have deleted the folder in Appdata. All I get is "not responding". I attach the latest log in the hope of that someone can point me in the direction of what is happening. Handbrake works without a problem.

Have you tried an older version of avidemux? Like 2.6.8 https://www.videohelp.com/software/AviDemux/old-versions#download . Latest versuin is not always best.

Or try disable OpenGL under Edit->Preferences, Display and change Video display: SDL and SDL driver: software.

I downloaded an older version but with file in my first post it comes up with a warning about h.264 using "B" frames as a reference which can lead to a crash or stuttering. Perhaps this was the problem although that still does not explain why I have the problem with ts files.

However using a newer version of avidemux with Baldrick's suggestion I had no problems whatsoever. Hopefully that's the answer so thanks Baldrick.
