  1. Hi!

I created a DVD using QDVDAuthor under Linux.
Works fine so far, except that the DVDPlayer( I tested 2 different ) doesn't
play the sound in menu, VLC player does play sound.

The tune is converted from mp3 to mp2 using ffmepg. Maybe their is the problem!

    Has anyone any Idea?

    thx nick

Try convert to ac3 audio instead of mp2 with for example aften or ffmpeg. Cause mp2 might not work on some standalone dvd players.

ac3 audio didn't change the behavior on standalone dvd players. Still no sound.
Curios is that the Menu.mpg merged ( Video+Sound ) with mplex does play sound
    about double speed in VLC!

    Any suggestion?

  4. It is 2015 and I too am having the same problem with a DVD I've just re-authored using VobBlanker and PcgEdit. My DVD has an introduction with logo and audio, which plays fine on every PC software (except PowerDVD) or standalone players I've tested it. After that introduction, comes the menu itself. It is a still menu, but I wanted it with a looping audio. Everything is fine, but on SA players, I have no menu audio. Audio is ac3 and I've tested it in 320kbps and now it is 192kbps... Who can help, please?

How did you make the ac3? Maybe some crappy encoder.

  6. Hi Baldrick, thanks for your reply. I used MediaCoder x64, AC-3, with FFmpeg Encoder. I really don't know which Bit Depth to use for DVD audio: 16, 24 or 32-bit... Thx again!

DVD audio is typically 16-bit, but 24-bit audio is allowed.

[Edit] FYI This old thread describes a problem involving Linux tools and DVD authoring. It is better to create new threads instead of forcing the people who want to help you to read through someone else's irrelevant posts.

  9. Hi everybody! I must have made some mistake. I simply reworked the project from scratch and now it is working fine!
    Thx!
