MKVMerge 5.9.0 onwards - additional seconds on output

hello!

so, the problem is about the output having additional seconds in it.

as you can see, when i mux the original video in mkvmerge, the output has an additional 6 seconds when played in MPC-HC (KCP), although what is shown in the windows explorer file information for both videos (original and muxed) are 23:47....
but when muxed using MeGUI mkv muxer (which uses mkvmerge 8.5.2), it stays at 23:41 and somehow fixes the info in the windows explorer....

i downloaded the mkvmerge 8.5.2 and used it, but it produces the same output as in the 2nd column of the picture.

also i did some testing on the older versions of mkvmerge, and:
oldest version up to v5.8.0 = the output has the same duration as the source (although the info shown in windows explorer is still 23:47)
v5.9.0 - v8.8.0 = the output has more duration (23:47, instead of 23:41)

although when the time reaches 23:41 it skips immediately to 23:47.

Such inconsistencies are usually the result of the different tracks having different durations. Most often when the video track ends before the audio or subtitle tracks. So in your case the video track may be 23m41s, but the subtitle track may be 23m47s. With additional metadata elements written by newer mkvmerge versions MediaInfo and/or your player might be able to more precisely detect the track durations.
If you care about consistent behavior extract the subtitle track and look for any lines that end after 23m41s. Then either shorten their end times (to max. 23m41s) or delete them altogether. Mux all tracks back together afterwards.

holy cow, the subtitles did contain extra seconds with no lines in it 0_0
