Hi everyone, need advice on best way to capture video Svhs Jvc 6965 using Cannon xm2 as a throughput onto I Mac 27" . Tried using S video lead with scart adaptor but picture is showing black and white. Any advice much appreciated. PBK

If it's not an S-VHS machine, the SCART connection on the machine is not wired for S-video. Yours appears to be a Super VHS ET deck. JVC cheated a bit on that one.

Many thanks I think you've hit the nail on the head, I might invest in a decent Svhs recorder tend to be bias towards Panasonic hoping a good second hand still available Cheers PBK

There is a German seller on Ebay who has a great selection and a great reputation.....not sure how far you are willing to "go".
Don't forget several of the higher-priced Philips machines were true SVHS JVC clones (VR1000, 1100, 1200) and can sometimes be found pretty cheap if you are lucky.
I've had a 1000 and now have an 1100 and love it. I got lucky and found mine cheap. The seller just had "Philips VHS" in the description and a picture.
