  1. Just noticed that on the DVD/VCD copy I've just done, that when there is fast movement, the thing that moves gets a series of black lines across itIt's not noticable when someone (or something) is stood still, but the thing I ripped was a music DVD , and there is lots of mvement on that and it's very evident.

Any ideas what this could be and what I can do to stop it?

  2. I've noticed this when using TMPGEnc a couple of times when selecting
3:2 pulldown on normal VCD. Way around it was to match the template
to the source. i.e (NTSC) 24 fps Div X file > NTSC Film (about 24fps with 3:2 pulldown when playback enabled (Most templates do this by default anyway)
Bottom line......don't use PAL templates for NTSC sources!

  3. music videos usually meant only for TV (which means they're most likely NTSC, interlaced)

if you're using dvd2avi->tmpgenc, then forced film should be off in dvd2avi and you should use the NTSC template in tmpenc (not NTSC FILM template) thus, output video is interlaced, not 3:2 pulldown

  4. Thanks for that..One question though...The source disc is NTSC, but the copy I'm trying to make is PAL..I should be ok to substitute the PAL template instead of the NTSC one, shouldn't I?

  5. I had the very same problem!
I guess your going to have to convert it to PAL somehow first of all, simply using the wrong template f**ks it up bigtime and cost me
    alot of CDs.
I used the NTSC Film one in the end, plays fine on my DVD player now.
