  1. First of all hi there everyone
Newbie here as a poster but i check this site out often
I have a NTSC recording which plays fine on my pal tv
tho it scrolls when i try and play it on the kids telly in the other room
id been trying to convert it to a vcd image using both Virtual Dub and
cineplayer DVR not only did i have the sound snyc problem (dealt with in another post) but my capture card picks up the picture strangly
the normal Pal captures ive made work a treat with this VHS but this tape is recieved thro the capture driver i have with the top of the image cut off and the bottom quarter filled with white noise
the rest of the image looks great
has anyone else came across this problem and or any solutions????
    any help greatly appriciated
    thanx
    Pete

  2. You have a PAL VHS that can play ntsc?

tell me about it, same problem I have,
the reason beeing that 90% of the vcr makers
goes cheap and makes the NTSC signals
output as PAL-60 instead of true PAL.
What is the problem with that you may ask,
well its a hybrid format, kinda like ntsc but still PAL,
and most capturecard dont support this.

I managed to get it working
    (without the distortion you mentioned)
in DScaler with my wintv PVR, because DScaler
    supports PAL-60.

So for now my only way of capturing is
using DScaler, which sucks cus I cant capture to Mpeg
    and cant use VDub.
