  1. I'm stumped! I've played and downloaded videos from explore.org's USstream site before, but now some videos don't work.

    Here's an example:
    http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/65964827

This video starts out fine, but a short while in, it speeds up, or freezes. It also shows as 6 minutes long, but actually includes several hours of video (no audio), and could be 1-2 GBs in size. If I run it through MediaInfo it shows exactly the same info as other explore.org videos that play fine, and show the correct time info.

Any ideas? I tried changing frame rates, but no luck.

How do you download them? Maybe some crappy stream downloader that messes up the video.

Tried play with VLC media player?

Tried "remux" them with for example mkvmergegui, add the video and make a new mkv. No video reencoding.

But I don't think you will find any easy way to fix them...maybe something like video repair tool but it's not free.

Thank you! Mkvmergegui worked... sort of. It created a slow motion file with a 6 hour running time. Original was probably 2 or 3 hours long. Used Machete to extract the part I wanted. Used Handbrake to up the fps, and it looks pretty good. I'll try different settings in mkvmergegui to see if I can adjust the running time. This is a good workaround for now, so thanks again!
