  1. I have posted in the past for this JVC GZ-MG21U camcorder. hard disk camcorder.
I never had any distortion with the audio, but it was a windy day, so I used a feature called Wind Cut and also was using a battery, but that never caused a problem like this.
When I played the footage back on the camcorder it wasn't that noticeable to my ear but when I put the files on my computer and played them, I could hear what sounded like an echo, the people farther away, don't sound as if they are in a barrel, but since I was doing the videotaping my voice really sounds canned.
I don't know if anything can be done, since it is already recorded, but just wondered?

  2. The wind cut feature is mostly a high pass filter. Applying a boost to bass frequencies may make your voice more normal. Of course, the wind buffeting will come back too.

  3. Thank you for your reply.
Since this never has happened before, I decided to check out the sound on my computer by playing a YouTube video.
The reverberation was in the audio on there too, so I'm wondering if it is my settings on the computer.
I have that Dragon software installed on my computer and in order to use the headphones and the software itself, had to plug both into 2 USB ports in the front of my computer.
I unplugged the headphone port to use to load my camcorder files onto the computer, so I'm wondering if the settings are off now.
Is there any way to troubleshoot to see what might be causing this reverberation?
    Thanks again.

  4. Is there an audio control icon in the Tray? For example, Realtek puts a control there with all kinds of reverb and equalization settings.

  5. Yes, when I click on it, it shows Device and Speakers and the sound is all the way to the top, then Application System Sounds and that is all the way to the bottom, then Internet Explorer and it is all the way to the top.
Then under Realtek Audio Manager, shows speakers left and right and digital is selected. Under Sound Effects Environment is bracketed.
I'm not sure what the settings are to be or what is causing the reverberation. Under Environment sewer pipe is selected! Maybe that is the problem.
    I appreciate your help.

  7. Thanks again, and for your confirmation, ironic, wondering what the reverberation was, can't see how anyone would choose that setting!
Are the other settings for sound alright as they are?
Appreciate all your feedback and instruction.

  8. That cleared up that problem, was getting ready to upload video files to work on them and now I'm hearing a low sounding hum through my speakers.
I read through my manual for Realtek speakers and don't find any troubleshooting for this problem.

  9. The Realtek audio on some motherboards is not well isolated and often has some hum. You can minimize it by turning Windows' audio mixer all the way up and the volume control on the speakers lower.
