  1. I just downloaded Adaware to get rid of all the Spyware & Advertising Junk that I collected from Kazza & Bearshare. It found (18) items of Spyware or Adware, do I just check mark everything or is there a risk of deleting an important system file?

P.S. - I check marked a couple of thing & hit continue but it then said "You have selected nothing" Whats up with that. What is the backup function for? Most of the Items were associated with something called "ONFLOW" & also "COMET CURSOR", what are they? I did notice a program called "Onflow Player" is that some sort od Advertising Player?

    -Thanks-

  2. if you delete any of the items some of the things may not function properly with reguard to the programs that use them but genrally i delate all the spyware things anyway and avoid running spyware software like kazaa.

  4. When I do it I usually just remove everything that it throws up.....

    Onflow...Doubleclick...Fastclick...EVERYTHING.
Maybe someone will tell me this is wrong..Dunno..

The only problem that I have ever come across is that KaZaA will not work if you remove everything....

Dont worry about it...From Add/Remove programs remove kazaa and then go to http://www.pcmedixwebs.com/regclean.htm and get a program called Reg Cleaner (freeware) and use it to remove any traces of kazaa you can find....

Do the Reg Cleaner twice coz everytime I do it it puts a new entry for kazaa back in there....

Then as said above goto www.kazaalite.tk and download and install it.

(it's not made by kazaa but thats a different story and allready in another thread...LOL)

Kazaa Lite is just soooo much faster anyway....

Adaware should be used with caution, there have been times that using it will cause a lot of system problems. I suggest it is better to use Adawear as a means of finding the spy's, but remove them yourself by other means.

I think what he is asking here is exaxtly what he can and cannot remove with AdAware...

The only point to my post was that I really do just take everything out but this by no means is certain that this method will be ok for everyone else......

Maybe if someone else does remove the wrong thing then their system will become unstable I dunno........Mine hasen't so far....

    Exept Kazaa....
