I installed the update for Adaware this morning and ran a scan. Adaware found four objects...

    suspicious object
    C:\WINDOWS\Replay Media Catcher\Uninstall.exe

    Win32TrojanPacked
    C:\Program Files\Repay\.\tcher\Media Catcher.exe
    C:\Documents and Setti\.\play Media Catcher.lnk
    C:\Documents and Setti\.\play Media Catcher.lnk

Are these false positives that should be ignored or is Replay Media Catcher malware?

  2. the first one probably is fine, it's where it's supposed to be. the other 3 seem to be a bit off.... there shouldn't be a space in the name and they don't seem to be in the normal folders. i'm not sure how a trojan could be in a link shortcut file though.

  3. Install Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware and run a scan with both. Ad-aware hasn't been worth using for years. They knock items off the blacklist when companies pay them enough to do so. I don't trust Ad-aware results at all.

Everything was fine until I upgraded Adaware to the aniversary edition.

I ran Malwarebytes, Superantispyware and Avast and they found nothing. I ran an online scan with bitdefender and it deleted the exe file.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and now Adaware says the files are fine but Adwatch won't let it access the internet since it flagged it before so I have to turn Adwatch off when I use the program or it won't let it start.
