    Just for a proof, can I add a video codec (e.g. Lead Directshow Mpeg2 decompressor) to the ffshow package?

    And, if possibile, will work in VFW?

    Not unless you create a fork of the source, program your own codec, include it and recompile.
    Or beg/beguile/coerce/pay someone else to do it.
