avi+TMPGEnc 2.53 = white squares?

I've finallly got video with my audio when converting avis to (S)VCDs with TMPGEnc 2.53. I thought Divx 5 would be the only codec I needed...no, I needed v4 as well!
The problem I have now is a bit bizarre - I've got a small block of white sqaures in the top-right hand corner of the screen. It's 3x3 white squares, with the top-right hand conrner square black.
Sorry I can't explain it any more clearly, but has anyone seen anything like this before?

OK, after a bit more experimenting... Sorted :P
It's just the software players that are showing this (WMP8 & Elecard) and only when playing mpgs in SVCD format, so I guess it's a codec problem?

Anyway, the reason for converting these avis (my Dansai standalone DVD player) works fine. woo hoo! :P
