    Hi,

I use Hauppauge HD PVR-2 to capture HD TV programs thought HDMI with ArcSoftShowBiz. When I open ArcSoft, I see the preview image and it is perfect. Butwhen I capture and watch it on VLC media, I have Swap fields problem. If I setthe VLC media video option to (Deinterlace On) It solve a part of the problembut image is still not perfect.

    - If i capture with MP4 option - I have Swap fieldproblem, but colors are correct.
    - If i capture with M2TS or TS option - I have no Swap field problem, butBackground colors change every 2 sec

    - Is it a Swap field problem ?
    - What cause Swap field problem ? (ArcSoft, VLC, Drivers etc)
    - How to solve that problem ?

    Thank you

  2. Post a sample that shows the problem. Swap fields (as in VirtualDub's Swap Fields filter) and reversing field order are two different issues.

  4. Those images don't help. Since everything is in motion there's no way of determining if the fields are in the wrong order. It's best if you post a video sample of the source. Or a still shot with both stationary and moving objects. Or just use VirtualDub's Swap Fields filter and see if it gets better.

I don't need to see the preview image because it's been deinterlaced with a simple bob.

    @Jagabo

Look at the 2 red stick at 0:30 to clearly see the problem

Edit: When i look at the same video with VLC media i see big horizontal missmatch, but it seems to be ok when on Youtube lol. Do you see something wrong with the youtube video or all seems ok ?

  6. Youtube deinterlaces and re-encodes everything. That's not useful at all. Upload a short sample of the original video directly to this site. VideoHelp allows up to 100 MB attachments.

  8. Uploading to Videohelp is easy. Just use the "Upload files/Manage Attachments" button that appears below the box where you input your messages. Browse to select the file, press the upload button, when it's done, press the "Close This Window" button.

Ok, ok, last post was a joke... I found the problem and post answer here if someone else have the same problem.

    My setting was:

HDCP signal --- Component --- SIIG Splitter (Component to HDMI) --- HDMI --- Hauppauge PVR-2 = Bog

    Now:

HDCP signal --- Component --- Component to A/V (Include in box) --- HDMI --- Hauppauge PVR-2 = Joy

I thought i need a special splitter to bypass the HDPC, but the Component to A/V include in box is enough...

TY Jagbo, even if you didnt do anything to help me, but you tried

I won't have to burn my Cpu setting in a voodoo ritual to bypass the HDPC frustration

  11. You're losing quality by converting digital HDMI to analog component video then back to digital HDMI. You can get an HDCP stripper for ~$25 and avoid the analog stage.

    http://www.amazon.com/CVID-BG-520-splitter-switcher-XBOX360/dp/B0089DSLMY/

The discription doesn't mention removing HDCP (if it did they would get in trouble) but it does. I have the 1x4 splitter and it removes HDCP too.

I convert it only once, I did a mistake on previous post, real setting is :

Cable company HD reciever ---- Component output ---- Component to A/V (Include in box) ---- A/V input Hauppauge PVR-2

I use the component output from the cable company reciever.

    Does:

Cable company HD reciever ---- HDMI output ---- Amazon splitter ---- HDMI ---- HDMI input Hauppauge PVR-2

    Gives better image quality then:

Cable company HD reciever ---- Component output ---- Component to A/V (Include in PVR-2 box) ---- A/V input Hauppauge PVR-2

    ?
