I have downloaded a movie with extension ".AVI" but windows doesnt seem to recognise it! I can play it with my windows media player (latest) but when I try to open it in TMPGEnc it says it is "unsupported" HELP!!! What can I try? What can I use to convert it??

you do not have the right codecs, other users have had this prob also. Got http://www.divx-digest.com and download the alpha 3.11 and everything will work just fine for you.
