I have a ripped copy of A Good Day to Die Hard and I've noticed on a lot of 1080p rips they have this weird video glitching. I would like to know if it was done through the ripping process or if it's my computer (I use VLC) I don't think it's my computer because when I replay the scene it gives me the weird glitch at the same time every time.
Do you guys know what this is actually called (If there is a term for it) and how to fix it? Thanks!!

Then just play or backup your original Blu Ray disc:

...because discussing illegally downloaded material is not allowed here.

My guess would be that your player doesn't have deblocking turned on, and/or the rip suffered from insufficient bitrate. Instead of just throwing bitrate at it, you may be able to find an encoder configuration that uses existing bitrate more intelligently, thereby reducing blocking. It's just a question of how much it bugs you and how much of what you're prepared to spend fixing it.
Cheers,
Francois

This is not deblocking problem and your bitrate necessary. This is color conversion problem. Try uncheck Preferences > Video > Accelerated video output (Overlay) and Use hardware YUV->RGB conversion. If not change, change media player.KMPlayer with "K-Lite Codec Pack > LAV Video Decoder" (Free) or "Splash Pro" (Commercial) is good media players.

The KMPlayer seems to have fixed it! Thank you Hikmet for actually helping me!
