OK, so I setup my windows on my new SSD drive and I've had no problems...until now...
OK, so everything was working fine. Then my 2 TB HDD decided to not show up. I replaced the SATA cable and made sure everything was tight, after all else failed, and it showed up. However, in the BIOS it is now listed as an IDE drive and not hidden away (When I changed everything to AHCI mode). Then the same thing happened to my 1TB drive just now. This time I simply switched SATA connectors on the MOBO.
Anything to be worried about? Is there something I did wrong?

Did the drive appear correctly when cable was connected to different SATA mobo connector? I recently had similar problems with PCI SATA adapter, and drive was recognized correctly when cable was switched to another SATA port on the adapter card.

When I did my initial re-install of Win 7 on my SSD, I had set all the BIOS functions to ahci.
When everything was up and running, after the BIOS screen flashes, none of the drives show up.
A second screen appears and disappears very quickly with AHCI at the top and all the drives (Fast, so it took a couple of restarts for me to see them all)
In BIOS none of the drives are listed in the SATA section (Can't remember the name) but when I got to Advanced, I can select from all the drives as the startup drive.
All drives would show up in Win 7.
After unplugging and plugging back in the drives, the would all eventually move back to being seen after the BIOS screen flash as well as in BIOS (With the exception of the SSD drive).
So, now 3 of my drives (SATA drives) are IDE and no longer AHCI...but I don't know if this matters. They are working.SmileSmile
