Hi all,
I am in the market for a Boom Mic Stand. I'd like to get something that has multiple joints.
Any recommendations appreciated.

Do you mean a mike stand for a Boom (aka shotgun) mike? or a Mike stand with a Boom (aka Crane) attachment. The "multiple joints" part makes me think the latter. And if you are specifically looking for multiple jointed crane attachments, the weight of them will REQUIRE that the whole fixture be heavy duty.
This one: http://www.markertek.com/Audio-Equipment/Microphone-Accessories/Microphone-Booms/Atlas...d/SB11WE.xhtml
is only 1-joint, but I guess you could add a shorter joint attachment at the end, and/or add an extender to make it taller before the 1st joint. That's the kind of thing I was saying, re: heavy duty.
I've also seen some that have "steerable" mike cages on the end. Very cool for soaps.
What are you needing it for? What's the environment? Workflow?

I am looking for something that I can use for 30 or 60 second spots and anything that may involve a scene that has more than 2 people. A crane attachment sounds like what I am looking for.
This is a new area for me, so my terminology is lacking.
