Hello all.Could someone please tell me what the line/mic jack is on a camcorder? And can you give me some examples of what sources would go into this jack? What is the difference between the line/mic jack and a line jack and a mic jack?Thank you.

Generally (and there's always exceptions)
Line might come from a mixing board or anything powered and already amplified. The line input on the camera will not supply any signal boost.
Mic would come from...a mic. The mic-in connection on the camera might supply power and/or a signal boost/amplification. -
Further, line would be consumer unbalanced high impedance similar to the red/white audio jacks on all consumer audio or video products. External mic levels for camcorders do not match pro mics or computer mics in most cases. You should get a mic designed for consumer camcorder use.
