    Hi,
When i convert a 720 or 1080p movie, with DTS 1510 Kbps audio track, to DVD using AvstoDVD, newest version, i get a horrible sound output. its just a long high noise, no speaking, just loud noise.
I have tried to check and uncheck "Keep DVD Comliant Audio", and used "FFMpeg+Aften" and "FFMpeg" with a final of DTS, and another with AC-3 448 Kbps, same result.
I use FFDShow, and i've done a new and clean install of both AvstoDVD and its features and ekstra programs, and FFDShow, same results..

Anyone knows what i am doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. Your movie is more than 2hr long, so AVStoDVD is using the direct ffmpeg encoding approach to convert from DTS to AC3. From the log files everything is ok. Do you have the possibility to burn a DVD-RW and play the disc on a standalone player (not on the PC)?

It's messing up the audio channels.

I make my own AVS scripts to make conversions, and often have to experiment with different downmix functions.

I use one of those from here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1243880#post1243880

Even if you're not downmixing to stereo, you need to remap the channels.
I use this to hear each channel separately (uncomment one line at a time and test) to work out which mapping to use:

    Code:
    #GetChannel(1) #
    #GetChannel(2) #
    #GetChannel(3) #
    #GetChannel(4) #
    #GetChannel(5) #
    #GetChannel(6) #

Could you please elaborate better? What program is messing up the audio channels? FFmpeg? On what files type?

    I don't use AvstoDVD, so I don't know how it's doing this.
But I asume it's using Avisynth, and I hope there's a way to see and modify the script.

I do know that when I do an audio conversion using Avisynth, that sometimes the order of channels isn't as expected, (at least as Avisynth interprets it) and then I hear. e.g., subwoofer channel instead of the front or left/right, and it often does sound as you describe.

    See http://avisynth.org/mediawiki/GetChannel

Thus when you say It's messing up the audio channels, you are just guessing what's the problem. Now it is more clear.

I tried it on a DVD and on my Dune HD Smart D1, no audio, just i very high scattering noise..

Maybe thats an option, ekstract it from the MKV, convert i to AC-3, and mux with muxman.
Because i already demux the result, adding subs, and mux/author agian..
So it wouldn't be that hard to add an audio track..

    What is your point?

Of COURSE I'm "just guessing" That's all anyone can do without the files.

  13. @AlanHK

it seemed to me that you were sure about messing up the channels, maybe because you had a similar experience, i.e., with FFmpeg.

    @xxbs

do you have the possibility to upload the mkv file or a portion of it?
