Hello, i have a 7.4 GB 720p .mkv video file and i want to burn it on a DVD9 (8.5 GB) and play it on a stand alone avchd bluray player ( sony ). i dont know which tool will give me better results, AVS2DVD or multiAVCHD. the idea is to keep the aspect ratio and the quality at it's best.

    Thanks in advance!

    Peace.

If you have an AVCHD capable player, use Multi-AVCHD and output an AVCHD structure, ready for burning to disc using Imburn. If you want a standard DVD for playing on any DVD player, you can use Multi-AVCHD, or AVStoDVD. Both use the same encoding engine (HCEnc), but AVStoDVD gives you more menu options.

AVCHD preserves the full 1080 or 720p resolution, DVD requires downscaling to SD resolutions, so you take a noticeable quality hit.

There is a good chance that your MKV file does not have a compliant resolution and will have to be re-encoded, which on your system (assuming your system pecs are correct in your profile) could take 5 - 6 hours or more.
