  1. Hi,

I have tried to run the videos taken from my muvi mini black on both updated windows 7 starter and ubuntu 12.04, under window media player, VLC media player, movie player and the player from the veho software downloaded from the veho site, I can only get the first one to run (2 in windows).

The SD card was formatted before it was used in the cam and worked in the previous device with no problems. I also did a test run with the cam before it was used and the video playback worked fine.

There were 10 files all recorded within 12 hours or so of each other, all using the voice activation method of recording and the cam not being touched in between recording. The first file plays fine on all systems and lists it's properties, including duration, with no problems. It's the other 9 files that will not playback and, although having physical size associated to it, lists 0 seconds duration and will not playback.

The files all have size ranging from a few Mb to 600+Mb, but apart from the one that will run, the properties all state they have 0 seconds playback. I have tried playing them from a copied file and direct from the cam, all have the same result.

This has not happened before or after with any other file recorded on the cam or using a different memory card and am stuck for what to try next.

While also looking for a solution so it doesn't happen again in the future, my main aim is to get the files working and watch the videos.

Any thoughts, suggestions or help please?

    Thanks in advance
    Tim

  3. Hi aedipuss and thanks for replying.

The card is a Kingston 8GB micro sd hc.

The working file is around 200 mb, the others range in size, so quite large to upload. They are also of a *AHEM* more personal nature, hence why asking for suggestions and not able to share them.

about all you can do is open the non working ones with a hex editor and see what's inside. if it's mostly 0's, they are useless. if it looks like random data you might be able to do something like in here

I'll try all you have suggested and go from there. I'll post any results.
