A few months ago, I installed a program that easily switches codecs. You only need to run it and choose the desired codec for rendering XviD, H264 and all the other stuff. It is kind of a install-like application. The only problem is — I do not remember what it is called, at all. I think it has a long name, if I recall correctly. I used it to disable Microsoft codecs and leave only FFDShow and CoreAVC (that's what someone recommended me to do). Thank you in advance.

Are you using Windows 7 (or 8)? If so, could it be the Win7 DirectShow Filter Tweaker?

Have you looked in the tools/downloads section? It'd probably be in codecs or codec identifiers or something like that.

I found Codec Tweak Tool, though it is not as simple as Win7DSFilterTweaker. I do not know how to use it. In Win7DSFilterTweaker, there is a list of formats and check marks to select the wanted decoders for them.
