  1. Ok so I want to edit fileproperties/information on MKV files so that i can use tags to search for the file in explorer. Like you do with mp4 files where you change the details to a file in the properties. The fileinfo I was going to put there was: genre, comments, descripton, etc.
I tried to tag the mkv files by making a a xml file and muxing it with mkvmerge, but when i do so the changes won't show up in explorer and I can't use the tags to search. I tried to use matroska shell extension, but i couldn't get it to work (don't know what it was supposed to do, but hoped it would show the tags in explorer and make them searchable).

  3. I have one question to the answer you got? I found out that i could show the tags in MKVinfo, but when i try to search in explorer by using the tags i created for the file i don't get any results. Isn't there a way to make the tags searchable in explorer and to show them natively in windows without having to open up a program? By searching I mean when you f.eks use size:huge to filter out all the files with 1-16 MB in the explorer searchbar. This worked with a MP4, but i haven't found out how to do this with MKV's.
