    Hi all, I have video files that I captured from a Sony MiniDV camcorder using Windows Movie Maker. The files when imported into Movie Maker do have the separate clips by date captured. I would like to save the clips out as separate files. Can I do this with Movie Maker or what software do I need to do this. This is just our family videos, would like to be able to take the clips and make up DVDs for saving and special projects.

    I have used ULead several years ago on an older computer that has since died. I have Nero Express and not against buying Ulead if it will work for this.

    you might try capturing the tape again using winDV. the time/dates will be in the file names and you can set it to create a separate file for everytime the camera was paused/stopped.
