    Hi,

I was recording a video yesterday on my laptop using a software called YouCam.
Unfortunatley my laptop battery ran out of power while recording a clip and im unable to play the file now.

Can anyone please recomend a program that will enable me to play an incomplet avi / un properly saved one?

THe file size itself is around 10GB so it captured almost everything.
I have tried playing it on VLC, GOM, Windoes Media Player and used AVIcodec to see its specific details but nothing works/

AVIcodec is saying: Opening Error Cant play back the file. Format is not supported.

    Thanks for the help

  2. Hi,

VLC has a "rebuild AVI index" feature that sometimes work. It's buried deep inside Preferences, under Inputs/Codec -> Demuxers -> AVI.
    Force Index Creation: Always Fix

You can also have some success with MPlayer (on Mac, MPlayer OSX Extended is recommended).

If nothing works, you should try video repair tools.
This one should give a preview directly in your browser. No need to install software
