Alright, since I just want to see if this will actually work and if the quality is good enough, I want to try and hook up my old stereo to my TV.
I have a Sony Bravia. These are the specs:

I have a Sharp Stereo. These are the specs:

...
From what I can tell, the audio OUT for the tv is RCA, and audio IN for the stereo is RCA too...right?
Or am I wrong?

Do you have a cable box or Directv receiver?
As for the question, yes, both should be RCA type. You could go from TV Analog out to the Stereo Aux input. It Started In Texas -
Yah I have a cable box. It's a samsung cable box that I used HDMI with, don't think it's too much help.
So I just need a dual RCA cable or is there an easier way? Any recommendations since I think wire quality is a factor? -
Yes. I just want it so I can use the stereo's speakers instead of the TV's speakers. Whether it's for TV, PS3, etc.

I use RCA for my audio. I've tried Digital Audio Cable, I prefer RCA. I think that would be your best bet.
