  1. Alright, since I just want to see if this will actually work and if the quality is good enough, I want to try and hook up my old stereo to my TV.

I have a Sony Bravia. These are the specs:

I have a Sharp Stereo. These are the specs:

    ...

From what I can tell, the audio OUT for the tv is RCA, and audio IN for the stereo is RCA too...right?

    Or am I wrong?

Do you have a cable box or Directv receiver?

As for the question, yes, both should be RCA type. You could go from TV Analog out to the Stereo Aux input.

  3. Yah I have a cable box. It's a samsung cable box that I used HDMI with, don't think it's too much help.

So I just need a dual RCA cable or is there an easier way? Any recommendations since I think wire quality is a factor?

You're only hooking up AUDIO, right?

  5. Yes. I just want it so I can use the stereo's speakers instead of the TV's speakers. Whether it's for TV, PS3, etc.

I use RCA for my audio. I've tried Digital Audio Cable, I prefer RCA. I think that would be your best bet.
