    Hey all,

I'm new to video work and having trouble with my renders in Vegas.

I'm getting video from various sources (HD camcorders, Flip Videos, Cameras with video option, etc.) and I'm being asked to have them all have consistent formatting. I'm pulling my hair out on this.

My renders look fine, but when I upload them to vimeo, the get stretched or adjusted somehow. Even when I play some vids in my vlc player I can see that there's black bars above and below the video.. which is not how it shows up in quicktime.

I'm under a deadline for this work and just can't figure it out.. I've watched a ton of videos about matching property settings and other render options, looked at the vimeo site for the best formats, etc... to no avail. Is there some major thing I'm missing?

    Thanks for your help.

like your thread title your problem description is too vague to be of use. specifics are needed if you expect useful answers.

    Got it makes sense.

So say I shoot a vid on a Flip that shoots in 4:3 (640x480) but my work wants everything in 16:9, and they don't want the image noticeably distorted of course. How can I do that?

As for another issue, for some reason when our web person puts my vid online, it shows up with black bars along the sides of it. Why? Here's an example: http://www.kripalu.org/be_a_part_of_kripalu/1306

    Thanks for your help.

I believe they are using the mino... watched some youtube vids on this topic.. think i got it figured out...

but any feedback about what's happening to the vid when it's hosted on the site? From what I understand the web designer takes the embedding code right from vimeo.. why would it be letterboxed like that?
